PJ and Laurie will perform a program of original instrumental compositions on piano and violin that are a merger of Celtic, Classical, and New Age influences. The music has been described as mesmerizing, meditative, and moving. Donation-funded, Bakhita Arts is a home-grown organization supporting the community in all areas of creativity. Ananda is honored to partner with these folks. It's always a wonderful meeting of hearts of minds.

Illumination Wines host the Carolina's best songwriters on the second Tuesday of each month in a cozy New Orleans speakeasy setting. Join us for an intimate evening of great original music at this free event. I look forward to hosting this showcase each month. On July 9th, my guests will be Mike Alicke and CJ "Sunshine" Peters. Both are talented songwriters and performers. and it's going to be a great evening. Donations are appreciated.

About the Songwriters:

Mike Alicke is an award-winning singer-songwriter-guitarist (2012 Summit Showcase Songwriter of The Year and Nominated 2013 Songwriter of the Year by the Charlotte Music Awards) with many years of performing, touring, and recording experience. One of the busiest musicians performing in the area, he hosts several songwriter showcases and open mics in the Charlotte and Lake Norman areas, as well as performing his share of solo and band gigs with his Main Channel Band. He is an accomplished guitarist and singer, and his original songs are catchy and memorable. Mike added lead guitar tracks to PJ’s latest recording. CJ Sunshine was born a natural artist, but music is his first love. The singer/songwriter and lead guitarist has two new albums under his belt: “Azalea” and “Clementine”, and three compilation CD’s. Available alone or with his “Sunshine Band”, or playing lead for “THE FIDGETS”, CJ makes it his mission to excite the crowd and keep them interested and yelling for more. Rock Hill’s PJ Brunson hosts the monthly showcase and performs full-time in the Carolinas and beyond.
