Illumination Wines resumes its monthly songwriter showcase on the second Tuesdays of the month featuring the best local and regional songwriters in the area. Join us for a great evening of original music from 6:30-8:00 PM. It’s free! Donations appreciated. Limited menu and great wine and craft beer selection available. On March 12th, PJ Brunson hosts Charlotte-area songwriters Kat Finnigan and Kristi Ormand.
About the Songwriters
Kat Finnigan was GA born and hails from a musical family. She calls herself “a late bloomer” but in her less than 10 years performing, she has written over 200 songs. Kat began her musical journey late but has certainly made up for lost time. She started with writing songs, then playing the guitar, and then performing at Open Mics and collaborations with other artists. With strong support from members of Southern Songwriters Association, she has crafted many songs of family, faith, and love. She hosts Acoustic Faith Sunday monthly at the Tipsy Burro. Her “claim to fame” is that her song “The Unjudgement Way” has been played internationally and was picked up by The Human Library’s website.
Kristi Ormand is a singer-songwriter and recording artist based out of Charlotte, NC. She is the lead singer/owner of the band StellaRising formed in 2009. Her musical background can be traced to an early age. While working full-time she decided it was professional training that gave her the confidence and opportunity to finally pursue her lifelong passion of creating music. You will find multiple blends of genres in her music. StellaRising has released three EP's "Motion", "Karma", and the third was self-titled. Kristi has continued writing with many new songs that have not been released yet.
Rock Hill singer-songwriter PJ Brunson hosts the monthly showcase and performs full-time around the Carolinas and beyond. She has released two full-length CDs: “Come Hell or High Water” and “Home to Me”. Her latest EP, “The Other Side (Part 1)” was released in 2023.
